East Lansing is the home to some of the most committed fans
in college football. As I talked about earlier, fans continually pile in to Spartan
Stadium to enjoy their Spartans play. Tailgating is also a great event in there
parking lots by the Red Cedar ass fans will show up hours before game to grill
and empty the experience for as long as possible. When they enter the stadium, they
are greeted by more than their dominating football team. Zeke the Wonder Dog
can be seen catching Frisbees on the sideline and making friends with band
members. Most importantly, the most famous Spartan is always in attendance, Sparty.
Sparty is consistently one of the best Mascots and most decorated. HE has won
the National Mascot of the Year three times, Muscle and Fitness magazine’s
buffest mascot, a mascot hall of fame nominee, featured in numerous ESPN sports
center ads, and is even on the cover of EA Sports
NCAA Football '09 Wii edition. The committed fan base and side shows helps the Spartans as they fight for victory on autumn Saturdays.
